Motivational Thoughts » Articles » Haitian Motivation I Have Dreams And Visions! by Gauthier Saintilus In Haiti, the necessity to have a leader with vision is crucial; therefore I prayed God constantly to intervene so that we could have peace and pursuit of happiness in our homeland. Certes, by the grace of God all things are possible because He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and for ever! Today, I want to elaborate on vision. I have joy in my heart to tell you that I have a dream! My self-esteem is not low, and it would never become low. It is very high! I have a vision! But, I know that every Haitian has or should have dreams and or visions to help develop our country; therefore I encourage you to measure your visions. How do you measure your vision? You check yourself, your intuition, and or your passion. In fact, every team needs one, every team needs several. A team should examine the following leadership guidance before embarking on any journey. A team’s vision must be aligned with principles of strictest integrity. That holds true for any endeavor. There’s only one true north. If your compass is pointing in any direction, your team headed the wrong way. A moral compass brings integrity to the vision. It helps all the people on the team check their motives and make sure they are laboring for the right reason. It also brings credibility to the leaders who cast the vision, but only if they model the values the team is expected to embrace. When they do, they bring fuel to the vision which keeps it going. Thus, to renew Haiti, we must work together with our visions collectively and make a difference. Remember that, you need confidence in yourself. If you lead your team, then you are responsible for identifying a worthy and compelling vision and articulating it to your team members. But if you are not the leader, identifying a compelling vision is still important. If you don’t know the team’s vision, you can’t perform with confidence. You can’t be sure you and your teammates are going to the right direction. You can’t even be sure the team you’re on is the right one for you if you have not examined the vision in light of your strengths, convictions and purpose. For everyone on the team, the vision needs to be compelling. I understood that leaders must be visions casters, and vision may come from anyone. As a result, I urge everyone to work together with me so that we could bring forth the vision and courage to reinvent Haiti. We need a government for our tomorrows not for our yesterdays. Now, we must do the work the season demands. We need volunteers, coordinators, active members, counselors, sponsors, instructors, and team leaders with visions. Let us put aside personal advantage so that we can feel the pain and see the promise of Haiti. Now, it is time to break the habit of expecting something for nothing from our government or from each other. Let us all take more responsibility not only for our family and us but also for our communities and our country. Look within and implement your passion where integrity brings fuel to the vision, passion brings fire. And the true fire of passion and conviction comes only from within. As I stated before “the necessity to have a leader with vision is crucial in our country.” If necessity is the mother of invention, intuition is the mother of vision. Experience feeds our intuition and enhances our insight. A vision must resonate deep within the leader of the team members, who will be asked to work hard to bring it to fruition. But that’s the value of intuitive passion. It brings the kind of heat that fires up the committed-and fries the uncommitted. A compelling vision should build on the past, not diminish it. It should make positive use of anything contributed by previous teams in the organization. This is a principle of a retrospective look (look behind). Any time you cast vision, you must create a connection between the past, the present and the future. You must bring them together. People won’t reach the future until they have touched the past. (Fr. Méditer sur le passer c’est travailler pour l’avenir.) Poet Henry David Thoreau wrote. “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors, to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.” As I already mentioned, vision provides direction for the team. Part of that direction comes from a sense of purpose. Another comes from having goals which bring targets to the vision. In fact, vision helps people with motivation. You and I and all other dreamers need motivation that would help us to focus in our goals and to prevent us from being frustrated by short-range failures. We must motivate each other. A number of Haitians does not read newspaper, neither computer literate. How can we motivate them to get involve? Certes, It is imperative that all Haitians, regardless their social status, receive adequate information and instruction to reinvent Haiti. I would like to inform them the new strategies through radio talk show, work shop, meetings, and instructional conferences. Etc. Based on this demand, your financial support is crucial! I need not only your visions and your objectives, but your generous donation as well to help us advance with the organization. Now, I urge every one to get involve and send me your voluntary contribution in money order because it is time to do the work the season demands. Finally, I exhort you to trust in the Lord. He has power to remove mountains and do marvelous things for us when we trust Him more. In fact, God told me to sweep Haiti with a bloom, but I said, “Lord it would be better to do it by rain and flood!” This first sign proved that God wanted to put an end from Haitians political struggles. Now, whatever happens, trust in the Lord. Fall down on your knees and pray the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and our God to deliver us from bondage. Ask God to give me more wisdom to lead his people.
